Wandering Bear Cold Brew Coffee

There’s nothing like a good story behind a start-up! Wandering Bear Coffee  started in a grad-school classroom in 2013, with the now owners each carrying a mason jar of homemade cold brew coffee. Within months, they had rented a small kitchen in Queens, NY, working tirelessly (and over-caffeinated) to figure out how to scale the business. With a bold, chocolatey taste, they currently use Fair Trade organic Arabica beans from central Peru. They are the FIRST to make cold brew in a box a “thing!” Their unique packaging eliminates oxygen and light from getting in (the biggest way coffee becomes stale!!) and helps to maintain the bold, smooth flavor.

Cold Brew is made by steeping coffee grounds in cold water for an extended period of time (between 12-24 hours). Traditional iced coffee is made by brewing hot coffee and then pouring it over ice. Unlike traditional iced coffee, the cold brew process eliminates heat and yields a bold, smooth coffee that’s low in acidity.

Caffeine Content: 25 mg. per fluid ounce – more than double your average cup of coffee! Low sugar and high caffeine, yes please! There’s one thing I can’t stand more in my coffee and that’s unnecessary cream and flavoring in the canned varieties. Yuck! No thank you. Keep it simple and high quality, than I can jazz it up myself with coconut, a swirl of caramel and keep it very light, but…90% of the time, I do drink my cold brew black because it’s healthier AND it tastes so smooth and chocolatey to begin with.

Straight Black, Mocha & Vanilla are all equally strong and smooth and have quickly become my favorite part of the day! And the best part of all – #strongAF
